Methven Art Gallery - Methven Heritage Centre

Mt Hutt Memorial Hall Art Gallery Exhibition – Heather Hall & Ruby Whitty

Heather loves the wide open skies and the nearness to many inspiring landscapes and climatic differences in Canterbury. As an Artist she draws a lot of inspiration from her natural surroundings and she feels deeply for Mother Earth. From a young age Heather has been interested in the arts starting with jewellery making , painting with oils and watercolours but finds acrylics the more useful medium to work with now.

Ruby loves working with acrylics but also enjoys pen and pencil work. Coming from the UK in 1975 and having completed a course in Folk Art she started selling her art and transitioned into paintings. Ruby instigated the Kaiapoi Creative Arts section of the Kaiapoi Workingmen’s Club and is also a member of the Rangiora Art Society and Arts Canterbury.
“I live to paint not paint to live”.
