Lynda started painting watercolours about 20 years ago. After a week break she restarted again with the help and guidance of local artist Ngaio Mckee. Ngaio’s influence inspired Lynda to preserver with the medium watercolour which is now her only medium. She loves the way the painting glows when the transparent quality of the paint is utilised to its fullest.
Lynda’s painting style is semi realistic. Her main inspiration to paint is the mountains we have in Mid Canterbury and she loves to capture the depth, distance and beauty of them, especially when they are draped in snow. She also loves to confront the task of painting other subjects and is constantly learning and growing and that is what painting and life is all about.
