Colin is currently best known for his social commentary works, done often in a surrealist style. Throughout the years he has built up a strong foundation in a diversity of mediums and a diversity of styles. Watercolours and oils back in the seventies and eighties, nowadays from satirical to comical, from surrealism to cartooning, from stone carving to sculptured wood, he interprets the world around him visually.
Maria began her art journey in pottery and sculpture in Australia, going on to study painting and drawing as her need to explore colour and form found limits with clay and fire. She moved to NZ in 2000. The colours in nature here enthused her. The glazes she had worked so hard to perfect, were overshadowed by the beauty of the paua shell fragments on the beaches, by the amazing skies created by the fact that mountains and oceans were directly impacting the weather outcomes and the colours.
